                            - High performance transmissions in the racing arena are subject to high applied loads/torque and extreme contact kinematics. Therefore, gearing design requires detailed multi-scale analysis, particularly for teeth pair contact durability and efficiency. The paper extended the state-of-the-art methodology in contact kinematics, micro-geometry, tribology and lubricant shear characteristics in a multi-physics approach. The methodology is critical to the industrial funder of research; Mercedes AMG F1, and resulted in further extension of the research funded jointly by the company and EPSRC under the Doctoral College in Embedded Intelligence (CDT-ei).
