                            - This work was supported by a BBSRC New Investigator Grant (BB/F013884/1) and EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training Regenerative Medicine PhD.  Here we reported novel 'magnetofection' for virus-free genetic engineering of transplant populations of neural stem cells. Technical approaches developed therein underpinned grant awards; EPSRC ETERM Fellowship (EP/I017801/1) for C Adams and BBSRC Research Grant (BB/J017590/1) for D Chari. The protocols have been adapted for other transplant cell types (i.e., olfactory ensheathing cells – Delaney et al., Nanoscale, 2017) and have featured in invited conference presentations (i.e., TCES Annual Conference, 2016). The work also underpinned C Adams appointment to Lecturer.
