- This book represents a major intervention in the literatures of immigrant integration, ethnic inequality, and social stratification. Totalling over 100K words, the book introduces a new multi-dimensional and multi-level theoretical framework to understand variation in the outcomes of the children of immigrants in New York and Los Angeles, combining this with a painstaking and cutting-edge statistical analysis to thoroughly test hypotheses derived from this framework as well as re-analysing data from previous work on the subject. The work has been featured in a symposium in Ethnic and Racial Studies, and was very positively reviewed in the American Journal of Sociology.
