                            - Here, a unified theoretical model that explains the phenomenology of magnetic nanoparticles-mediated magnetic hyperthermia to treat cancer was presented.  This work was supported by the European Commission (FEMTOSPIN, ref. NNP3-SL-2012-281043), Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (FIS2010-20979-C02-02, MAT2009-08165, MAT2011-23641, MAT2013-47395-C4-3-R), and Xunta de Galicia (INCITE 08PXIB236052PR and EM2013/037). The research contained in this work was a significant part of Dr Ivan Conde-Leborán PhD thesis, supporting his transition into industry (Financiera Maderera S.A). This paper was also instrumental in the progression of Dr David Serantes towards a Research Fellow Position in the University of Santiago de Compostela.
