                            - This paper describes a novel model to study “droplet to film” impact using a coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian computational approach. It has led to further detailed research into the study of droplet physics in highly rotational and turbulent regimes by informing the design of a full-scale (engine representative), high-speed bearing test rig to replicate an aeroengine bearing chamber at the University Technology Centre (UTC), Nottingham. The work in this paper and the follow-on study at the UTC was funded by Rolls-Royce.
