- Double-weighted statement
- Situated in the interstices of the political and intellectual history of contemporary Indonesia, based on detailed research involving the processing of a large body of literature in various languages, as well as research visits to Indonesia over a period of 8 years to collect material and conduct interviews. Six substantive chapters offer examinations of complex political and intellectual-historical, legal, and religious themes, carefully mapping increasingly polarized debates between opposite sides of the Indonesian Muslim spectrum. Further evidence of its pioneering value is evinced by the publication of an Indonesian translation by the country’s most reputable academic publisher in the field
