- The book is 635 large format pages in length. The result of decades of sustained research, it offers a detailed analysis of a vast body of evidence, ranging in date from 55,000 years ago to the sixth century AD, including both written and non-written material. It poses and answers fundamental questions about Egyptian concepts of the afterlife which have never been considered before and provides an innovative new approach to the study, not just of a particular ancient Egyptian deity, but of how religions change and develop more generally, and how we can track these changes in the historical record.
