                            - Development of gearing systems entails trade-off between energy efficiency, and noise and vibration refinement. The reporting author is an originator of this modern approach to powertrain engineering through multi-physics analysis. The paper extended this methodology to multi-scale evaluation. It reports on a JCB-Innovate UK funded project under the Off-Highway Initiative (Grant Ref: 102257, ECO-Axle), leading to the development of a new eco-friendly axle for off-road vehicles. It now forms an integral part of JCB’s “Road to Zero Carbon” initiative.
