- This 485-page volume constitutes an innovative study of historiographical methodology, supported and tested by four very different case studies from Early Christian history, each addressing a substantial body of material. The methodological part engages closely with recent philosophical, sociological and historiographical discourses. On account of the detailed discussion of earlier historiographies, the work is relevant not only for early Christian history but also for other historical areas. The book has already prompted two conferences.
