                            - For the first time atomistic simulations reproducing thermal trends in both elastic-constants and thermal-expansion of nuclear fuels is reported. Underpinned by EPSRC (EP/I036400/1) and the Nuclear-Decommissioning-Authority to understand the storage of spent-nuclear-fuel. Chosen as the journal’s “Featured-article”. Several citations each from Commissariat-Energie-Atomique (France), US national labs (LANL, PNNL, ORNL), Canadian- Nuclear-Laboratories and the Bhabha-Atomic-Research-Centre (India). The model’s website has >6000 downloads. Invited talks include (Rushton): American Nuclear Society “MiNES” conference (Baltimore, USA,2019) and STFC/EPSRC sponsored “Forcefields: Challenges-and-Vision” (Daresbury-Lab,2018). Rushton appointed to organising committee for “Materials-Modelling and Simulation-for-Nuclear-Fuels” and “NuFuel” conferences (Karlsruhe, Germany,2015).
