                            - Research presented of the patented internal combustion free-piston engine (WO2011GB50931 20110516) in collaboration with Beijing Institute of Technology. The work resulted in an Innovate UK award (132233) 'Unlocking the potential of a Free Piston Engine range-extender' led by SR Technology Innovations Ltd. and an EPSRC IAA award 'Camless valves for high-efficiency heat engine' to increase frequency and thermal efficiency. Also, the research resulted in a Transport Technology Research Innovation Grant (T-TRIG) project 'A Compact Hydrogen Powered Range Extender' funded by the Department for Transport and an Innovate UK - Innovation to commercialisation of university research (ICURe) award.
