                            - The ability to differentiate orbital angular momentum (OAM) states of light allowed us to set a world record (in the spectral-efficiency-distance product of OAM transmission systems) over a 50 km OAM mode optical fibre transmission link. This work led to two US patent applications (20190253176 and 20200173844). This work was also reported at the CLEO: Science and Innovations 2020 (paper SF1J.5, https://www.osapublishing.org/abstract.cfm?uri=CLEO_SI-2020-SF1J.5)
