- This 12,000-word paper with 6 co-authors condenses five years of sustained work, documenting the design and applications of a unique web platform now used around the world: a computational toolset for interpreting diachronic or synchronic differences among variant translations. Implementing Cheesman’s original concept required multiple grant funding and a team of specialists in literary linguistics, data visualization, stylometry, machine translation, and human-computer interaction (supplementing his own literary critical and translation studies expertise). Demonstrating numerous complex analyses of a purpose-built German Othello text corpus, through online interactive algorithmic analysis interfaces, the paper opens new horizons for translation studies and digital humanities.
