- Double-weighted statement
- This first volume of a Corpus publication of the Greek, bilingual and trilingual inscriptions of Ptolemaic Egypt collects 206 documents from Alexandria and the Nile Delta region and includes primary publications of both the Kanopos Decree and the Rosetta Stone. All the inscriptions have been edited afresh with translations and supporting commentaries. The Corpus offers for the first time a full picture of the Greek and multilingual epigraphic landscape of Egypt in the Ptolemaic period and will be an enduring and indispensable resource for research into the history, society and culture of Ptolemaic Egypt and the wider Hellenistic world.

- I was a Co-Investigator (with Alan Bowman as Principal Investigator and Simon Hornblower as a second Co-Investigator ) in the AHRC-funded project from which this volume and the companion edited volume of studies The Epigraphy of Ptolemaic Egypt (OUP 2020) are primary outcomes. My contribution to this first volume of the Corpus of Ptolemaic Inscriptions has been both as a joint editor with Alan Bowman of the final manuscript and as an individual editor of 126 of the 206 documents within the volume (numbers 2, 8-11, 14-15, 17, 19-22, 24, 26-27, 29-48, 50-52, 54-57, 59-60, 70-71, 73-83, 85, 88-98, 100-102, 104-108, 110-111, 114-118, 120-121, 127-128, 130-133, 135, 137-143, 169-170, 172, 174-175, 177-180, 184, 186-189, 191-194, 196-199, 201, 204-206). The 126 inscriptions that I have edited include most of the shorter Greek dedicatory inscriptions, but also substantial documents requiring extended commentary and elucidation. In addition, I have reviewed and revised Greek texts throughout the volume, in particular the texts and editions of dedications and fragmentary inscriptions from Naukratis (145-150, 152-154, 157, 161-168). I have also revised the fully-preserved Greek texts of the Kanopos Decree copies from Tanis (119) and Kom el-Hisn (129) and re-edited the copy of the Memphis Decree (Rosetta Stone) from Leontopolis (122). I have provided lemmata and physical descriptions of the 22 metrical texts edited by Simon Hornblower and palaeographical commentaries throughout the volume. I shared the composition of the Introduction and front matter (abbreviations, lists of images and texts) and the section introductions with Alan Bowman, compiled the Concordances, and selected and prepared the photographs. My contribution amounts to around 95,000 words in a volume of c.185,000 words.
