                            - This work reports a template-free synthesis of nano-poly[n]catenanes via molecular self-assembly and represents the first time that this has been done for structures that are built up from a single small molecule interacting with itself, at this scale, and with such a fine level of control. This was an international collaboration between Keele, Chiba University (Japan), and researchers from Switzerland and Italy. Analysis of small-angle neutron and X-ray scattering data from allocated beamtime at the ISIS and Diamond national facilities were instrumental in characterising the structures. A number of international invited talks have been presented on this paper.
