                            - A new construction method is presented for reinforced concrete structures under the confinement of composites under aggressive environments and dynamic actions (e.g. bridge piers, offshore underground structures). A new procedure estimates dynamic behaviour accounting for the coupling action, improving the safety of concrete structures. The basics of displacement-based safety design approach are established. The findings have been adopted by the latest version of Chinese Standards JGJ3: Technical specification for concrete structures of tall buildings.
